US government needs just another boogeyman. Since collapse of USSR they can't find a scapegoat to scare the population with and keep them under control. US government poses much bigger threat to the world, than whole Middle East combined together.

iran did NOT help The United States of America against the taliban in 2001.
iran IS developing a nuclear weapon in a number of laboratories across iran.
