ahhh, nonconformist.....we didn't care if it was justified! the beer was cheap, the pay was ok, but these air assaults was better than sex......fun was fun. being a doorgunner was the best job there.

While I think the war in Vietnam was unjustified and spurred by mindless xenophobia and government greed the use of napalm was justified. The vietcong were using the dense jungles as hiding places and booby traps. Against guerilla forces there is not much you can do but be complete and brutal. That's once you are forced to fight a guerilla force of course. Vietnam was an act of butchery on our part.
