In my opinion, Leona's strenghts in this song:
- Having a silvery, very strong and full voice especially in the higher register (there probably more effortlessly than Carey)
- due to that, hope not to easily overwork her voice
- demonstrating high musical and technical potential as well as sensitivity that could lead her to perfect her interpretation (she's still young)

In my opinion as a non-professionel, Carey's strenghts in this song:
- Expressive, resonant sound especially in the beginning due to strength (and training) in the lower register
- Variable interpretation by using different timbre and coloratura
- Being very musical, sensitive and creative in adjusting lyrics and voice based on a great vocal range

the way she sung it was not as hard as the way mariah sings it. and mariah just sings it with more rhythmic power which ironically makes the piece much more emotional |
