Peter is an awesome, a real showman!! Phil is a great drummer for this music. The two were a great combination for Genesis!!

He did, but nothing lasts forever and Peter was always gonna be a solo artist. The second Genesis and after were also very good at what they did. Although I agree with you (as I'm sure most people any real taste) would, that Gabriel Genesis was the biz, the sound and musicianship on the following albums is pretty smart too. Anyone here into Porcupine Tree?

To:doremi5002-May I add the word "perfect" to your list? This was a perfect performance, with perfect direction from the producers of the taping. And Tommygun did his magic making this (in my opinion)a perfect video, the best on YouTube.

Genesis with Gabriel was a truly unique band; their concerts were truly unforgettable. I was very pleasantly surprised when "Trick of the Tail" came out and was as good as it was.
The one after, "Wind and Wuthering," was in my view the last great Genesis album. After that it got poppier and, while still good, it was never the same.

Phil did, however, do a fantastic job taking the reigns from Gabriel with Trick of the Tail. That is still one of my favorite Genesis albums, although works like "Can Utility and the Coastliners" are timeless and magical. Executed with theory and profound thoughtful lyricism in mind. |
