ALL submissions are legal in the Invite division. So, no he should not have been DQ'd. The move is actually not illegal to use to hold the position (without cranking it) in any tournament and many allow it as a submission.

wtf, that white guy in the second match should have been disqualified, can-openers are illegal, he tried it two different times... nothing but a neck crank from the guard.... oh well, he lost anyways...

If you knew anything about the UFC or Royce, you would know I was referring to how the UFC grew to perfect "Ground and Pound" and stand up stiking and kicks, which was Royce's weakness.
