Can your elephant paint? Watch this elephant, rescued from abusive treatment in Burma, now paint a beautiful image of an elephant. You'll be amazed at how her talent unfolds as she carefully completes each stroke. Her mahout talks to her throughout the process as his gentle touch gives her confidence. She focuses on her work and seems to enjoy the approval of the audience and, of course, the sugar cane and banana treats. All of her training has been reward based. So touched by their horrific backgrounds and loving personalities, ExoticWorldGifts.com now supports, "Starving Elephant Artisans" by selling their paintings so they can continue to have a new life in Thailand. Some Thai elephant experts believe that the survival of the Asian elephant species will most likely depend on the good treatment of the elephants in well managed privately owned elephant camps. All of us would prefer that all of the elephants be free to be in the wild. For many reasons, that is not possible at this time. You can learn more and purchase these unique paintings at ExoticWorldGifts.com

Animals are artists and computers are full of knowledge. So what are humans? What is our contribution? (Don't say free will unless you know what you're saying. If you do, you'll realize we've been contributing wrongly.)

That is so Cool. Wonder how much they were selling the painting for.

This again shows the old dichotomy between humans = reason, and animals = sensual is false. Animals are rational beings also (although with much weaker powers than ours).

whats amazing is that this proves the elephant has powers of reason to the point of a infant child. This is incredible.

he's trained to draw that specific picture. Other elephants draw the same one.

body to brain mass ratio doesn't mean a whole lot. Some animals with smallish brains have turned out to be so intelligent (parrots and ravens for example) that scientists have had to reconsider the significance of brain mass.

Was he trained to draw an elephant or was that something spontaneous?
