No she was not. For anyone to allow their body to become half as obese as that is nothing short of sacrilege; it insults the true beauty and potential of the human body. She looks like that because she has no self esteem in the first place, and granting her the role of victim is not gonna help her at all. She's the one who gave up on her own body; she's no victim, and neither is any other fat type.
