the tori should put his head closer to uke's head... the uke could easily bring his legs up, hook his head, and escape...

Definitely. The arm control prevents him from taking back, according to Royler and Renzo Gracie. Normally I'd just explain why it's true, since I feel the same way as Haggle about it, but I'm sleepy and an appeal to authority will have to do for now. If you need proof then check out the book those two put out together.

this is my favortie pin, no one has ever takin my back, i have been doing bjj for a year now, many upper level belts and much larger opponents cannot do anything, if this pin is done properly they cannot take your back, escape, and the opponent cannot breath, i like you had several upper level and insturctors say that i should do it the way u just said but it takes away from the pin, and when they said this i put them in my pin they could not move and could not breath

horrible instruction, nothing stops him from taking your back, basic him movement. the far arm needs to be under his armpit, not over, holding him in a headlock. The bottom guys' struggle doesn't impress me one bit.
