I think the point of making another version of a song is to make it differently. Apply your voice, style, etc. to the same lyrics. The best part it hearing the difference. Admittedly sometimes it isn't as great as the original, but you always have the original to listen to, right?

"slowed in a way that can only be compared at most to an amateur playing at a talent show" - You obviously are not a musical person. I'm not trying to insult you personally - but if you think those guitar riffs are amateurish and take no talent you are just plain wrong. There's no getting around that.

I suppose your correct about not calling it the gayest, its definitely not my favorite. Not to continue this argument but because i dont like Mayer , i have no musical background? Ive been playing piano since i was about 6 and im now 20. I think if you actually heard the style of music i listen , you would say i do have good taste in music. I truly do listen to the absolute widest range of musical style. I know what your saying, but i also wanted to point that out.

Its just a personal opinion, nobody has to get upset over it, thats why youtube has so much arguing, people take personal offense to something they have nothing to do with.

Absolutely beautiful guitar work by all. Gave me chills to listen to. It was awesome to hear Mayer play this live, let me tell you. Wonderful cover by a talented artist.
