Yeah... the song has nothing to do with love between a man and woman at all. It's Jay-Z rappin in the point of view of the "Blue Magic" heroine from the movie American Gangster (hint the title of the album: American Gangster) That's why they got girls in the video seeing psychadelic colors and shit.

This is the greatest love song ever written. I listen to it daily, rembering a love I had like this once. It was JUST like being addicted to Heroin. (Not that I would know, LOL) but love is just THAT deep, when its real. Its a rare thing. Jay, you are deep brotha.

I believe He's talking about the addictions that we all have, not just drugs. People can be addicted to madd things! But everybody has their own opinions.

This song is about infatuation, use drug-related language as a descriptive platform. This is why Jay-Z gets better with age.

Huh...What girl? It's about drugs not a girl. "If you take me in vein. That feeling got you trippin. You don't want to feel no different." "Got you iching" "I'm your addiction".. You gotta listen. He even say key words like "I'm so dope". It's what drug attics go thru. He speaking as if he is a drug. |
