my opinion is that Jud's Gallery cant demand Moore's money for something he played many many years after, its called a Cover. many people uses the same rythmes in songs and everything so i cant understand jud's gallery's problem ;)
its like all of the covers that have been done from the Hendrix songs, i cant think that i would have complained if someone took something from he's songs :)

Parisienne Walkways is from 1978 and Nordrach from 1974! Same roots!

Jud's Gallery played in the 70th as a support act with the Brit Alexis Korner on Tour and could have been heard by Gary Moore.
Jud's Gallery won the process! The guitar-solo is stolen from Jürgen Winter's Nordrach.

Gary plays with so much passion Oh Yea!
and it doesn't hurt to have a 59 Les Paul

Also: 50/50!!!

I don't know about the "obvious" thing, really. Maybe he did rip it off, maybe he did not - given his massive amount of original work I tend to believe the latter ... and who knows: if you dig deep enough you might find that set of notes in some piece written by Bach or any other classical composer, no?
Let's face it: the notes are rather trivial, it's all about how you play them and that is where Gary just shines.

In "the sense of feel" Malmsteen and pretty much any of the old days™ "Guitar Heroes" (read: fretboard wankers) don't even exist, let alone come close.
This is about a musician, maybe a little about technique, but definitely not about wrestling as many 1/64s as possible out of your strings although I admit that can a somewhat impressive stunt. :)

Make that his hands ... Gary can play just about any guitar or even a broomstick with some shoelace and it would still sound like him. That's what you call an artist's style. ;) |
