I have always wanted to know about the slide and how it would be affected. So if he shoots another round off while you are holding it your hand prevents it from bringing another round into the chamber, or does it prevent the slide from moving all together? I have a pretty strong grip, I would like to know your take on it :)

Technically, it depends on the pistol. If its open barrel like the M9, then yes, you'll have your hand on a hot barrel, I doubt you'd notice though. If however it is a closed barrel like a P226 or a Colt.45 it would not.
Secondly, by controlling the slide of the pistol, it cannot cycle to get the second round into the chamber, rendering it impossible to fire again without cocking the pistol

its pretty hard to hold it right at the moment the case moves back your timing would have to be perfect, the case moves back to eject the cartridge so if you really grab it whilst its ejecting you leave the case in the gun or jam it. the case should not be too hot with a few shots. My guess is five shots would be warm to a bit hot
