all i've have to say is that GSP is argueably 1 of the best mma fighters in the world today and his priciple dicipline is Kyokushin Karate.

taekwondo kicks are way stronger, more effective and spectacular :] maybe it takes some basics from karate but improves it to make kicks as deadly as possible

KARATE is definitely very useful and strong M.A(you can see the K-1 fighter name is 'Andy Hug', he using lots of powerful Karate skills)
and also give lots of effect to other M.A
e.g, TaeKwonDo.
TaeKwonDo copy a lot of kick skills from KARATE.
if you want to learn more deadly skills, there is KyoKuShin Karate.

Exactly, and personally, any other martial arts, aside from Muay Thai, would probably lose against this type of fighting since all the fighters here look mighty, well, gigantic, thick, and durable xD. But big people do tend to win most of the time, no offense. I remember once fighting this dude who knew Tkd, but he was four or five inches smaller then me, and I still got the best of him, despite my knowledge of Martial Arts. And I'm a gentle giant, too, lol. But yeah, sometimes size matters.

@Nadzpower: Not trying to be an asshole, but alot of what you probably think a "skilled" fight is, is truthfully bullshit purported by movies.
Truth is fights rarely look clean and all pretty, they aren't shows, they are fights. And there is a hell alot of skill involved in kyokushin competitions.

I know, I said he could kick, but not that he showed real sportmanship. Kyokushin Karate is pure sport, the strongest, fastest, better athlete always win; in the true spirit of the martial arts, the weak and small defeats the strong; otherwise the practice of martial arts is pointless |
