Why the HELL do you think he started doing sheets of sound? Why the HELL do you think his successors Alice Coltrane and Pharoah Sanders did their own thing despite the critics? No form or structure?? This is one of the most complex jazz tunes EVER! Most flawed argument ever...

Chick Corea is a jazz pianist...so...you hate jazz, and hate Trane, but like Chick? (Chick, btw, has recorded Coltrane tunes, so I guess it was good enough for him). And I guess that the changes rotate on a 3 tonal matrix isn't sufficient structure, or that the tune has a 16-bar form that never deviates doesn't count as form. Ok.

5 minutes of wank. This is why I hate jazz. There is no form or structure to this. It's mindless burning up and down scales. There are no ideas whatsoever and it just feels musically empty. John Coltrane can play scales well, but he can't play music as well as somebody like Chick Corea.

Wow, just fantastic to see the solo unfold on paper like that. I never really did realize how complicated this is. Of course I knew it would take a master to complete this solo, but to see it on sheet music just makes it 1,000 times harder. Thanks for uploading man.
